Behind the build
The problem, approach, and impact of Quadro.
- Type
- Modular Service Booking Backend
- For
- Service businesses such as salons, tutors, coaches and studios that manage appointments, recurring classes and customer bookings.
01 Challenge
Service businesses often need to coordinate bookable services, recurring classes, reservations and payment states across separate workflows.
02 Approach
Built a modular TypeScript/Express API with a relational Prisma data model for users, services, calendars, bookings and orders.
03 Highlights
- Models one-off appointments and recurring classes, including participant capacity.
- Separates a calendar reservation from its order and payment status.
- Includes password and Google authentication, refresh sessions, input validation and a Socket.IO authentication namespace.
04 Outcome
- Provides a centralized backend foundation for managing service availability, customer reservations and booking lifecycles.
- Supports extensible booking workflows for different service-based business models through a modular API architecture.
