Case study / 13
Behind the build
The problem, approach, and impact of Dokan.
- Type
- Multi-Vendor E-commerce Marketplace
- For
- Sellers, customers and delivery agents participating in a multi-vendor online marketplace.
01 Challenge
People may buy, sell and deliver through the same marketplace, but systems built around a single fixed account role make those transitions cumbersome.
02 Approach
Built a MERN marketplace with role-aware account flows, dashboards, product and order management and a REST API.
03 Highlights
- Allows one account to hold customer, seller and delivery identities and switch between the corresponding views.
- Supports product listings and order workflows for sellers and customers.
- Uses JWT authentication and separates account identity from role-specific profile data.
04 Outcome
- Supports multiple marketplace roles through a unified account system.
- Provides dedicated workflows for product management, purchasing and delivery while maintaining a consistent user identity.
